Only a few days left before we say goodbye to 2016 and the Year of the Rooster comes in. As usual, many will make their list of resolutions however, I decided to deviate. Instead, I’ll be listing down the 10 things I’m thankful for this 2016.
1. Working at Home
It was in the middle of 2015 that I returned working at home after being employed and had been operated on. Since then, I seldom go out to experience the hardships of commuting, the traffic, and the hazards that go with it. Just thankful that I’m not contributing to the problem.
2. This Website
In 15 January 2016, I launched issabacsa.com, my personal website cum portfolio. I’m thankful to 3wCorner for hosting it for me.
3. Married for a Dozen Years
On 9 March 2016, Volts and I celebrated our 12 years together as a married couple. That doesn’t include the 2 years of being best friends and 2 years of being in a relationship before that.
4. Ganjah, Our Little Sweet Potato
I’m thankful and proud of my daughter, Priscilla Isabel. She’s consistently receiving academic awards in school and she’s preparing to enter Grade 7 this coming school year. We hope that she pass any of the three entrance exams she took (the third one will be this January 21). She will always be our source of pride and joy.
I may have lost Scriptito but I found a good alternative: Hiveword, an online writing tool.
6. Netflix, iFlix, and YouTube
Streaming media is in and this is one I’m also thankful for. Not only do I have access to some of my favorite movies and TV series, but also the convenience of watching them on my own time and terms.
7. Manang Ching, Tito Mading, and Others Who Have Passed Away
There are people who passed away this year and I’m thankful for the memories they left behind for me to cherish. May Eternal Light shine upon them.
8. My Dad Turns 90
Last July 2016, Volts, Ganjah, and I had the chance to visit my Dad in Moncada, Tarlac. My husband and daughter love the place so much that they want to live there soon. And I’m excited to see him again as he celebrates his 90th birthday this December.
9. Family, Relatives, Friends, Co-workers, and Acquaintances
Meetings, reunions, and get-together have been spread sporadically throughout 2016. I may have not met my BFFs this year, but that doesn’t mean we will not meet again. We will.
10. Readers and Followers
Lastly, I would like to thank you all for the support and friendship you extend to my social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google+, Pinterest, etc.) I may not be able to thank you personally but that single act of clicking the like or follow button is greatly appreciated.
I hope I didn’t miss anything. Let’s all be thankful for the blessings we received this year and let’s welcome 2017 with a smile and full of hope.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
